Disney is usually known for its classic songs from The Little Mermaid to “It’s a Small World.” Everyone knows at least one Disney song. I’m going to be sharing my top 5 Disney songs because they’re whimsical and embody all the magic Disney brings.
1. I See the Light | Tangled
I felt kind of weird adding one of the newer songs because I feel like people just automatically think of classics, but I love “I See the Light.” It’s such a whimsical song and paired with the movie scene, it’s an instant classic, in my opinion. Not to mention, it was featured in Disneyland Forever and was probably the best sequence. It’s such a beautiful song.
2. Once Upon a Dream | Sleeping Beauty
On a more lovey-dovey side is “Once Upon a Dream.” You’d be surprised that I really didn’t care about Sleeping Beauty until a year ago and I listened to this song. This song is for every dreamer who loves the idea of love. It’s sweet and Price Phillip actually sings in it too! Makes it so much cuter.
3. A Whole New World | Aladdin
There is no way I could leave “A Whole New World” out. If there is a song I knew all my life, it’s this one. I don’t know why, I didn’t watch this movie every day, but this song just stuck with me and I will sing it on cue. For me, this song has tons of memories and it’s one of the songs you can act out and sing at the top of your lungs.
4. The Second Star to the Right | Peter Pan
Maybe it’s just because I love Peter Pan, but this one had to be included. But this song reminds me to always keep a child like mentality. It’s one of those songs that makes me emotional the second I hear it. They always play an instrumental at Fantasyland, so it always feels so magical walking around especially at dusk to it.
5. When You Wish Upon a Star | Pinocchio
I honestly think if there’s an ultimate Disney song, it’s this one hand down. Disney is all about dreams and wishes, and this song is all those emotions wrapped into one. Don’t believe me? This song is almost ways used at the parks and during firework shows. It’s the perfect Disney song.
