Matthew 6:27 (NIV)
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Today is what you make of it. I’m no poster child for living my best life. More often than not, I think about what life could be than what it is. I think about the “what ifs?” and worry that I will never be satisfied. Why is it hard to live in the today? The Bible has so many verses about knowing to trust God and how everything is in His control. And it’s true. God has everything set and here I am worried all the time.
When I Let Go Then I Find Life
Today isn’t so bad. It’s easier to say than to believe it. But the reason we also feel like this (speaking from my experience) is that we try to take things into our control. Is today your ideal reality? Probably not but you’re alive. There’s a lot of people who wish to have more time to do more out of life.
The most interesting thing about God is that we have to let go and let Him do things which is against our nature. I know quoting Jeremiah 29:11 can get a bit cliche, but God has our plans set if we follow Him. My life is not where I thought it would be and it makes me anxious. But I am doing nothing by being anxious.
Today is not perfect but it’s what we have. When we let go and let God lead our lives, we have a guarantee that God’s plans will always be better than what we’re doing. The today is not the ideal but we must be grateful that at least we have life.
How do you deal with the today?
