Another year. Here we go. January is already over! Not going to lie, this month was a little weird for me so I’m glad it’s over. Very expectant for a better 2018. So here is January in review!

Lifestyle

– Y’all I’m in love with Not Your Mother’s hair products. I’m back to leaving my hair naturally and since I’ve been using them, my hair has improved so much! I use the All Eyes on Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfecter and the Naturals Coconut Milk & African Marula Tree Oil High Moisture Smoothing Cream. It smells amazing and my curls are staring to come back to life!

– I’m not going to lie, I’m already looking at spring clothes and loving everything. What do you think will be the biggest trend?

A&E

– I’m SO excited for music this year! There’s so much that is going to be released and I can’t wait! Currently loving “Do Right” by Glades. Such a fun song and a really cool message.

– Yes, I saw The Greatest Showman and I loved it. That soundtrack is SO amazing. I never felt so inspired and emo at all one time.

Personal

– I”M GOING TO EUROPE! As a little treat for myself, I’m going to Paris, London, and Rome with Ultimate Break (not sponsored, fyi) after I graduate grad school. I’m so excited because I’ve never flown internationally so please give me all types of tips and tricks!

– There’s a lot of good changes going on in my life. Some I expected but some were complete curve balls. But I’m getting my life on track so that is always exciting.

Around the Web

– Fun fact: I’m taking a break from Instagram but it’s making me stay away from the internet in general. Stay tuned for something new next month.

One month to go! I can’t believe we’re already at this point in the year. These last few months of the year are always the best but seem to fly by the fastest. Here’s November in review.

Lifestyle

– So my blow dryer died so I had to get a new one. I didn’t want to break the bank so I went for the Conair Infiniti Pro at Ulta and y’all, my hair turned out ridiculously soft. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from it but I was so impressed by the quality of it!

– I’m currently on the hunt for coats! I’ve been loving tons over at Zara and Asos but can’t seem to commit. Where do you prefer to buy coats?

A&E

– I watched Wonder and absolutely loved it! I read the book so I was excited to see it come to life. Movie adaptations always cut out ton of the book, but this did a great job at telling the story. Plus, Daveed Diggs is in it and he’s one of my faves.

– I’ve been reading Faith Forward Future by Chad Veach and it’s so good! I’ll be giving it a whole review soon!

Personal

– Ya girl is slowly getting her life together and I’m pretty stoked with how life is going. God is good. Life is wild. I’ll definitely be sharing way more when I can!

Around the Web

– Last month I talked about Overheard LA but there’s also Overheard NY and to be honest, it’s way funnier.

– I finally gave in and followed Gordon Ramsey on Twitter to see what he says about people’s food and I was not disappointed. What a guy.

Another month happening, life is just happening. We are so close to 2018 it’s ridiculous! I’m excited about it but nervous for what a new year will bring. Anyway, I don’t know about you but October flew by so fast. Here’s October in review.

Lifestyle

– I haven’t bought new makeup in forever but I went to Ulta and got some things. I got Smashbox’s Always on Matte liquid lipstick and I love it! I’m a faithful Too Faced liquid mattes lover, but this is a good alternative.

– Right now I’m loving the fuzzy outerwear trend. I’m pretty sure that’s not the name of these cardigans but it’s the best way I can explain them. They seem so cute and cozy!

Some of my favorites: Lux Clothing (not an affiliate link), Asos, and Urban Outfitters

A&E

– Last month in review I mentioned that I started watching How I Met Your Mother. Well, I just found out Netflix is taking it off next month! I’m barely on season 3 so I hope I actually get to see it all.

– Something shocking, I finally saw the live action Beauty and the Beast. I honestly ended up liking it a lot. The song “Evermore” has been on repeat because I’m low key a hopeless romantic.

Personal

– I officially applied for graduation from grad school! I’ll be done this upcoming May and it all feels so fast yet so far. I’m ready to be done with homework forever.

– Life has been going on as usual so there’s nothing crazy to report.

Around the Web

– If you follow bloggers, you’ve probably encountered the New Darlings. They’re my current faves. the girl’s bangs are my favorite thing ever and I really hope my hair looks like that one day.

– Again probably one you’ve already know about but I’ve been loving Overheard LA. It’s so funny but now I’m paranoid I will end up there one day.

September came and went. It’s so weird that we are now entering the final three months of 2017! I’m excited but it’s still so crazy to think about. I might put up my Christmas tree already because why not? But before then, here’s September in review.

Lifestyle

– So I fell in love with Hourglass’ Vanish Stick foundation. I’ve had this but never really used it. But since I’m trying to use up all my current makeup, I tried it and it’s so good! It blends out smooth and it’s so heavy.

– California’s weather has been a tease and it’s not completely cold yet. But I started wearing my Asos Chelsea boots and they’re amazing! If you’re a boot lover like me, Asos has amazing options.

A&E

– I’m a huge an of the Kingsman series and I completely enjoyed Kingsman: The Golden Circle. I typically don’t gravitate to these type of action movies, but these are so entertaining to watch!

– So I decided to watch a show that everyone has watched so I began with How I Met Your Mother. I’m barely on the first season so I don’t hate it but I am waiting for it to build up the story more.

– If you saw my review then you know that I saw Hamilton again, this time in LA. It was so good and I just fell in love with this musical all over again. I’ll be entering every lottery from now on.

Personal

– Yes, I am already planning Christmas presents! I actually want them to be really meaningful so I’m brainstorming things already to make sure I go through with it.

– I celebrated my half birthday this month! I can’t believe I am half way through my 24th year of life. It’s so crazy to think about.

Around the Web

– I love vlogs and one of my favorites is Morgan Yates Vlogs. She’s so chill and down to earth so it makes her fun and relatable to watch. I usually watch vlogs to destress from life. Her videos are filmed so well. Her recaps are some of the best.

– First off just a side note: I created socials just for my blog! See those on the sidebar. Since then I’ve been able to connect with more bloggers and I got to meet Deanna. She’s doing a 16 day self care challenge so check that out.

August in Review | ’17

Oh man, this month was a wild one for me. Looking back it is hard to believe that so many things happened in this month. All good things. Life has changed and I’m excited to see what’s to come. But as I wait and see what my next moves will be, here’s August in review.

Lifestyle

– I’ve been really digging the no makeup makeup look. I mentioned this last month but I’ve been trying to wear less makeup but sadly my skin isn’t as clear to go free. I need to stock up on some items so let me know what’s the best products to achieve this look!

–  Y’all, I bought my first fall candle and I’m in love. Now I feel like I need to stock up and buy a whole bunch. Let me know where to get some affordable ones.

A&E

– I watched every Marvel movie in order and now I don’t know what to do with myself. Watching them in order (not release dates but according to the story timeline) made me understand so much. If you ever want to try it, it’s honestly fun! It will just take a couple of weeks because some of those movies are long!

– With that, I dived in to the world of Marvel TV shows and started watching The Defenders. Charlie Cox, who is Daredevil, is my new favorite actor. I am going to start watching Daredevil when I’m completely done with The Defenders, which is a great show by the way.

Personal

– This month I went back to my alma mater to participate in an alumni tradition welcoming new students. I only graduated a couple years ago but I feel like so much has changed! It was nice to reconnect with old friends and see where life is now. So crazy!

– I finished my first semester of grad school! I am so tired but fall semester starts soon so I’m still feeling overwhelmed. Send coffee.

Around the Web

– I love following people that write because I always need some inspiration so I followed Rafael Casal. This guy is wise and super creative in many ways.  I can’t believe I didn’t follow him sooner.
