Hectic Days and Fresh Starts with Pure Earth Juice

Hectic Days and Fresh Starts with Pure Earth Juice

I’m currently one third of the way done with my last semester of college and it has been so crazy! Writing my senior thesis, thinking about graduation, and doing life in general is pretty hectic so I always need an extra boost to keep me going through my day and for that I have Del Monte Pure Earth Juice.

Let me start by saying that I am not a morning person. I mean it and my days usually start at 5am, so it’s painful. I travel an hour to get to my school/job on the worst freeway ever. If you’re ever in California, the 91 freeway is your enemy! I usually try to take a nap to make this commute seem shorter, but oh well, it still exists.

My days look so crazy because I have to pile everything in so I literally get to school, go to class, and then go straight to work and my job is a pretty physical job, no joke. It’s all straight business from 7:30 to 3:30 and it is so tiring.

hnadddBesides the snack I have in the morning, I usually have no real meal in the day so it is important that I grab something quick to keep me going. One of my favorite drinks is the pineapple/lime juice by Pure Earth. I’m all about the natural taste of Del Monte‘s pure fruits and the bottle is slim enough to carry around, and come on, trying to be healthy is definitely a thing. It’s delicious and gives me an extra boost of necessary energy. P.S. There’s also other amazing flavors like pineapple, pineapple with banana and coconut, and pineapple with blueberry and blackberry. Simply delicious!

When I’m done trying to cram in homework somewhere in a break, I head back home in the horrible traffic and take a shower and try to get my life together before I get to bed. There’s never a moment to think, but that’s good because my mind is always working and not getting tired for no reason.

My days are crazy with tons of things to do but I actually love it because I feel like I’m actually working for something and it gives me a weird adrenaline rush. It’s fun and I’m glad I have Pure Earth Juice to get me through the day. All just part of the life.

2015 Goals and Resolutions

2015 Goals and Resolutions

goals2015 is finally here and although I hate the whole “new year, new me” thing, I do have some things I want to accomplish this year with my blog and in my life. Not going to lie, but this new year frightens me. I will be graduating college, turning 22, and will be dealing with growing up faster in a few months. Although this year seems so promising, a lot of the great things come when you push yourself towards them. So here are some of the things I hope to achieve this year.

Blog Goals

Focus More on Fashion/Style Posts

It’s been such a long time since I made a fashion post, so this year I will definitely focus on making some on the regular. Plus, they are really fun to do and I know that’s something people love watching!

Be Consistent

There were times that I would post consistently and others were I would post once every couple weeks, which is terrible, and partly it was because I was so busy but I force myself to schedule things ahead of time and at least have some content up always.

Create Rich Content

Let’s be real, I love writing reviews but I feel into a slump. I want to focus on writing more posts with real rich content that can be relevant and helpful in a larger scale. I want a lot more posts that can be shared and come all from my creative head. It’s definitely better to create than just curate.

Stay On Top of my Youtube Game

Just like my blog, I go through times when I’m posting in a consistent level but my last dry period lasted for 2 months. I definitely will post more videos and better quality. Thankfully I have a good following but they deserve better videos and obviously having new followers will always be a great thing.

Increase My Following On Social Media

Since most of my social media accounts are my personal ones besides my Facebook page, I have a good enough following, however, I want to have more interaction with readers and other bloggers, so I’m going to focus on increasing my following on that end.

Life Goals

Graduate College Proud & Not Be Afraid of the Future

So my junior year of college completely burned me out and I barely crawled my way through my fall semester, thankfully I had good grades. However, my spring semester is my last and although I will be crying writing my senior thesis, I want to make sure I end strong. Not to mention, I don’t want to be freaking out about future jobs and what I’m going to do for the rest of my life, I want to take it slow and enjoy it all. Especially while I’m figuring out what city I want to live in after college. AH.

Be 22 and Sing to Taylor Swift Loudly

I’m finally turning 22 which means a song will finally apply to me. But also I just want it to be the best year ever since so many things and changes will be going on. 21 was great but I have a really good feeling about being 22.

Erase (All) Pictures from My Phone Each Month

I’m a picture hoarder because I love memories and I get in this weird mood of “what if I need to see that exact picture I’m erasing later on.” Weird, I know. But my goal is to clear out, or at least, erase most of the pictures monthly so I can have a fresh start each month. I know this will force me to do more cool things and have better experiences monthly, so that would be cool.

Become Spiritually Stronger

I know I’ve been terrible distracted and busy this past year and I know I’ve been flaking on the spiritual side, so this year I’m going to make it a point to be strong in my faith. Thankfully, I have a new journal to write in and I know that will keep me accountable somehow.

Go To More Live Shows

Although last year I did see Arctic Monkeys, and who can top that, but this year I want to go see way more bands, even local ones and small venues. Wherever it is, I will be there. I love new music and seeing it live iso much better.

Discover the Downtowns of Local Cities and Just Read

Downtowns of cities are probably the nicest or coolest part of a city. I know I’ve been dying to go to Downtown Fullerton just to hang out and I plan on taking advantage of them this year. Bonus for finding a cool coffee place where I can read and people watch at the same time.

These are just some of the things I want to focus on, but knowing me I will probably have way more as this first week goes on. What are some of your goals for this year? Let me know! I hope 2015 is the year that things change!

Things That Happen At A Mexican Christmas

Things That Happen At A Mexican Christmas

Who has the tamales? Did you get a present for all your millions of cousins? Holidays are great and all, but being raised in a Mexican-American family, the dynamic sure does change. It’s crazier and unexpected but all fun at the same time. These are some of the things that happen during a Mexican Christmas.

Food, Food Everywhere

Tamales, pozole, menudo. Everything is excessive during Christmas time and there will be leftovers for days to come. Cafe de olla is probably the best coffee that has ever existed and you better expect to eat some pan dulce.

Relatives Have No Filter

If you’re above the age of 20, relatives don’t ask you if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, they go straight into asking you why you’re not married and have kids already. Plus, they will point out that you’ve gained a few pounds and will give you their best homemade remedies. Sigh.

Christmas Eve is When the Party Happens

Christmas Day is basically a free recovery day from Christmas Eve. You get to hang out all day and wait until midnight to open your presents. All the cheer and eating happens on the 24th and the 25th means waking up to a full house and seeing the mess everywhere.

You’ll Get What You Need, Not What You Want

You can ask for the coolest gadget, or toy as a kid, but your relatives will most likely give you a scarf, bonus points if they knitted it. Trust me, warm sweaters or socks will always be on their to-go list when they don’t know what to get you or don’t want to spend too much.

Someone Will End Up Singing at the Top of Their Lungs

Because it’s Christmas and everyone is happy and someone will always think it’s karaoke night. But let them have their fun, it’s only once a year.

For my family, pranks are a huge deal with adults and kids so that adds a fun factor to our holidays. Plus, we have a bonfire and tons of movies to tame the crowds. I’m looking forward to stuffing my face and enjoy time with my family.

What are some things your family does during Christmas? I’m bracing myself for the chaos! Cheers!

5 Handbag Essentials with U by Kotex

5 Handbag Essentials with U by Kotex

It is finally time to hang up our beach bags and empty out the sand in the backyard, because finally fall is coming! You no longer have to carry all the junk that helps you get through the day so it’s important to look and reorganize your handbag according to the season. Here are my top 5 handbag essentials, which you can find at Walmart!

1. U by Kotex

Let’s face it, you’ll most likely wear white after Labor Day. Make sure you are prepared! U by Kotex are so comfortable and has soft edges, plus, the packaging comes in fun colors. Most importantly it comes with all new 3D Capture Core draws in and locks away the gross stuff, keeping you fresh and clean while you’re working hard at school or work.

Want it? Find it near you here:

P.S. Want to save and get coupons? The more times you share on Twitter, Pinterest, or Facebook, the higher the coupon value! The offer includes three coupons for Kleenex ($0.50, $0.75, $1) and three for UbK ($0.75, $1, $1.50)

2. Kleenex Slim Pack

When the chilly weather rolls in, it is definitely not cute having a running nose. Thankfully Walmart has this super cool package deal that gives you a Kleenex Slim Pack when you buy U by Kotex! They’re a small package that can easily fit in your bag, but big enough to clean messes. Plus, the fun print gives it a visual boost.

3. Beanie

Some days you’ll be tired due to the sun going down sooner, and other days the wind will be against you. Carrying a beanie in your handbag is an essential because it is more flexible than a hat and can easily go with any outfit. So even if you are having a bad hair day or you intentionally want to wear it, beanies are a must.

4. Lip Balm and Lotion

You can never compromise smelling nice and feeling smooth, especially once the wind starts to kick up. Lips easily get chapped and that is not fun, so always carrying lip balm can fight that. Same with lotion, your skin will greatly thank you.

5. Wallet Phone Case

Now that pumpkin spice lattes have arrived for the season, it’s going to be hard to keep you away from your favorite coffee shop. You will just want to stop right it and grab a cup, so a wallet phone case will let you carry your important things because let’s face it, if you didn’t Instagram your drink, did it really happen? Wallet phone cases will create less bulk in your bag and will let you enjoy the view from your coffee shop because you’ll put it away and won’t have the urge to check your Twitter.

What are some of your favorite handbag essentials from Walmart? Let me know! I’m excited to clean out my bag and enjoy fall-time and the joy it brings!

Thoughts On: I Just Graduated…Now What? By Katherine Schwarzenegger

Thoughts On: I Just Graduated…Now What? By Katherine Schwarzenegger

Hitting the last stretch of my college career meant that I needed to mentally prepare on what’s ahead. I was never the type of person that read self-help books, but being that I am legitimately confused on what to do after I graduate, I decided to give this book a chance.

Not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical because, I Just Graduated… Now What?, is written by Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter. The book includes her stories, as well as, interviews she conducted talking to celebrities, entrepreneurs, and other successful people, who struggled to make something out of themselves.

It began with her story and the anxiety of graduating and not knowing what to do. I really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but then I would read how she had always had plush internships, and even co-hosted Anderson Cooper’s show, which just made me hesitant because she is well-connected and can easily find her way. In the end, I do understand why she needed a break and that I can relate to, so thanks for that advice.

For the rest of the book, Katherine only wrote the introduction to the people she interviewed, but all the stories were completely their words. For the most part, the stories are inspiring. Some share about their struggles to even pay for college, while others completely found themselves in jobs they hated. Others came from wealthy families and were well-connected, so truthfully, those stories just annoyed me because they had a lot of help like, “Oh, my celebrity husband pushed me to achieve my dreams.”

However, the book does have other inspirational stories like Jillian Micheals, who didn’t go to college, but pushed herself because she loved fitness or John Legend, who had a corporate type job but pursued music until he made something of himself. Those stories gave me some hope.

Something I will draw from this book is that everyone gets confused about their future. Most of the time you will have to take a break or end up somewhere you hate, just to see what you really love, which is still scary but it eases me to know that everyone feels like this and makes it through. I will only recommend this book if you’re truly, utterly confused or just want a leisure read. It won’t solve all your answers but it will direct you into a different direction.

How are you dealing with figuring out the future? Let me know!

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
