It’s no understatement to say that 2020 has been an overwhelming year already. There is so much fear and confusion that it can be hard to cope with. We keep hearing God is near. This is true but sometimes everything feels like too much that we get crushed under pressure.
Handling uncertain times as a Christian seems even harder. We have questions but we also have to deal with other people’s questions. The big question is why a good God will allow bad things to happen. it’s a valid question because understanding God is part of our journey. But we can’t blame God for everything because the Bible has countless verses reminded us not to have fear.
Pastor Dante Gebel explained it well in his latest message. God is always in control of the situation even when it seems like He’s not. God is in the good times but also in bad times. He’s not caught off guard when trying times happen. He’s not in an arm-wrestling match with the enemy. He always has His hand on everything.
It’s easier said than done but it’s important to analyze why you think it’s happening. In the current world situation, people are turning back to God. There is time to actually seek His face. But also allowing people to learn to be wise in their day to day. It’s not the ideal situation to be in and it can be scary. We may not know what is happening but God has already seen the outcome of our life. He is God and we can’t try to define what He does by our human understanding.
God calls us to peace and not fear in the Bible because He knows in the end everything will be fine.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
