I finally got my hands on some Gentle Monster glasses and boy am I impressed. Probably because I’ve been submerged in the K-drama world, I knew I had to buy some of these.
Since I was due for new glasses, I thought it was a perfect time to get some Gentle Monster glasses. I did want to buy their sunglasses but I might as well start somewhere. I got the Wild Wild 2 and my sister got the Liberty 02 so here’s a review on the glasses.
Wild Wild 2
I’m a big fan of a bigger, sturdier frame. My last pair from Warby Parker was the ideal shape. Gentle Monster has quite a bit of glasses that have a similar frame. I picked the Wild Wild 2 because it seemed like the medium size of the frame types I was looking at.
I was actually surprised because they seem like really big frames but they don’t weigh heavily. They don’t really slide off and haven’t been uncomfortable when I have worn them. So far, they have fit well and I haven’t had any major issues with them. I got the tortoise color and I like them but would consider getting the clear version.
The Liberty 02 glasses are my sister but we almost switched so I was able to try them for a bit. I’m not big on wireframes but I loved these. They were also comfortable and have the rubber tips on the nose to make it easier to wear. The side of the frame is a little thicker, which I liked because it gave me more assurance that they wouldn’t break. They do have colors in gold, platinum, and black.
Buying glasses online is always scary because I don’t know how they would look like on me. I did compare the specs of my current glasses with what the Gentle Monster website listed. I did receive my glasses the day after I placed my order which was great. They do have a store in Los Angeles so I plan on going when I buy sunglasses.
Overall, I like Gentle Monster and they have really cool, trendy glasses and haven’t had any major problems with them.
