Last year I felt like I had to write one of these. I didn’t particularly want to because I was in the mood of letting anything happen. Wherever God led me, I’d be okay with it. While that is a good way to live, it’s also very aimless. I like new things and I’m a big fan of a new year. But maybe it’s the new decade but 2020 feels like a promising year. Here are my 2020 goals and a word. I’m believing that God will do something.
Stop Being Lazy
I’m the person that says “I’m Tired” when someone asks how I’m doing. There’s this Instagram post by Shelly Giglio that hit me hard. She explains that some people who feel tired all the time just don’t have something they’re actively working to. People who have goals and direction are energized. I have so many things that I want to do but don’t have the drive and just expect them to happen on their own. This year I will push myself to do things and set things in motion instead of just accepting that I’m tired.
Word: Clarity
I used to think having a word for a year is cheesy. But a word can encompass everything for the year. So for the year 2020, clarity seemed like the best choice. Every choice at this point in my life is so important. I want to make sure that everything I do is with the best judgment. Clarity is to see everything for what they are. It’s about being honest about where and how things are and hear God’s voice clearly.
I’m praying that 2020 is a good year. It’s time for me to step up and do something to move my situation further than just let things happen. Here’s to the new year!
