101 Things in 1,001 Days

101 in 1,001 Days | Update

When I decided to do the 101 things in 1,001 days challenge, I thought it was going to be easy and I was going to knock a bunch of them down and it would be such a fun time. When I started this list in March 2015, I was a few days from turning 22 and still in college and things were going good. But then life happened and you know how that goes. Thankfully this doesn’t end until 2017, but I have tons of stuff I need to start getting on. So in a bit of housekeeping and accountability, I’m going to do an update on what I’ve done and what I need to start focusing on! I’m going to explain each section with things that are done, what I’m working on, and things I now find irrational and will never do but will still try. Enjoy!

As I look over this section I realized that I am really horrible at categorizing things. Oh well.

Done: I did this list and I finished my senior thesis, so there’s that. I have gotten more routine haircuts but I’m giving this a few more months before crossing it off.

Working On: Everything basically. Definitely getting in shape is now my main priority and I need to focus on my relationship with God, so those are my top to do’s.

Irrational But Will Try: All nighter. I was thinking like a college student then obviously. I like sleep too much. Wear no makeup for a month or week. Seriously what was I thinking when I wrote these?

LOL. I’m trying, really I am.

Done: Graduate college, holla. Redesign my blog. Too many times. Grow my social media presence. Finally crossed the 1,000 mark on many things!

Working On: Finish writing my drafted posts. Oh wishful thinking. Build up my resume/portfolio. This is something I really need to do. Collaborate with another blogger. Cough cough, someone hit me up.

Irrational But Will Try: Surprisingly everything in this section is attainable, I just have to set my head straight and do it.

Social Life

Why do I have a section for this? Why not combine it with the personal section? I have so many questions for myself.

Done: Send letters to people. So much fun to do! Spend quality time with my family. They’re the bees knees and I love them.

Working On: Give out my favorite books to friends. I have so many piled on and I would love to share these. Give out “just because” gifts. Sounds like a great way to appreciate people around me.

Irrational But Will Try: Make friends go karaoke with me. One) I’m almost always at Disneyland and 2) why did I think this was a cool idea?

Oh man, I definitely had high hopes for this.

Done: Traveled on a yacht. The yacht where Beyonce’s mom got married on I might add. Visit a new beach. I love beaches.

Working On: Any of these? Truthfully, I have my eyes set on going to Japan now. This whole section is a miss.

Irrational But Will Try: Gum Wall. Considering that its been cleaned out I can still visit its ghost.

Just For Fun

Seriously, I don’t know how categories work.

Done: Go somewhere by myself. So therapeutic. Get a season pass to an amusement park and go regularly. LOL. I was on to something when I thought of this.

Working On: Read more than 50 books. I’m pretty sure I’m getting close to this. Go to a theater show. Does Aladdin at DCA count?

Irrational But Will Try: Go to a shooting range. I seriously think I’m tougher than I really am. Go paddleboarding. I mean, I still can’t swim.

Going through this list made me laugh because I really was going for something adventurous. Some of these things just seem so unlikely now but I will have to try. Any tips of advice? Any one else doing 101 things in 1,001 days? I would love to check out your list! Now wish me luck as I try to do something about all these things not crossed off.

  • The reason why I’ve never made a 101 in 1,001 list is because I’m overly ambitious. I would totally be like “I HAVE SO MUCH TIME. BIG THINGS.” Only to realize oops it may not be as feasible as I once thought. Be proud of the things you have accomplished already!

But I might know of a blogger to collab with…Just saying. I’ve heard she’s pretty awesome too.

  • You don’t mean the Gum Wall in Arroyo Grande (or one of those supersmushedtogethertowns) in Cali, do you It’s been CLEANED?? Crazy! I’ve actually been thinking I should have my hubby take me to a shooting range and teach me how to shoot, probably the effect of watching too many crime shows on tv, but couldn’t hurt, right?

  • I always find when you sit down to make the list, you have so much energy and adrenaline to keep you going. But when it comes down to completing the list, lord that’s a mountain of it’s own haha! But you’re doing a wonderful job so far. 🙂

  • This is awesome! I’m a list maker myself and enjoying the new book, “The 52 Lists Project.” I am working on writing personal notes to people. I know I appreciate a hand-written note. I also give away books to friends and family.

  • Okay, for real. I needed to have your mentality because that’s what I was thinking when I wrote this and then realized my time and ability was the opposite.

Oh heck yeah, let’s do it!
