I received this book from Blogging for Books for reviewing. All opinions are my own.

I love imagery. The fact that a non-fiction book can do imagery well is what kept me reading. Roger W. Thompson goes through personal stories in We Stood Upon Stars: Finding God in Lost Places and takes us through a journey (maps included) to see how vivid God is. This book is meant to help you find God in lost places and it helps to take you out of your usual setting and see things with different eyes.

A lot of these type of books feel kind of out of touch or too self help-ish, but I love We Stood Upon Stars because it’s a real journey through stories that make you think. The whole book blends wonderfully together so it doesn’t feel like it’s different chapters talking about different things about this general issue.

Each chapter focuses on a different location so it will make you want to travel because it is a vivid adventure to these places. Through these places, Thompson tells stories of God through things, people, and surroundings and it makes you want to see how you can see God in your surroundings.

Overall, I loved this book and could not put it down. If you love traveling, I recommend this but also I recommend it if you have trouble seeing God in your everyday life. We Stood Upon Stars is a fun read full of imagination.
