It’s been a fun summer, hasn’t it? So as summer is getting ready to wrap up, which is incredibly hard to believe, I’m going to share some of my favorite summer party stories, as well as some ideas to prep you for your next shindig.
Idea: Go Pinterest crazy! Pool noodles to hold a cooler in the pool? Yes. Summer party decorations are pretty much the same every time, leis, flip-flop cutouts, you name it. Change it up and try out every DIY possible and keep it fresh. There’s a lot of life hacks that can help out all those annoying situations that can hold up the minimal things.
Story: Every year I make sure I attend a pool party. Last year was seriously the perfect time because I attended one almost every weekend, which is funny because I cannot swim at all, but hey! This year, I actually had one and it rained! For California, it’s extremely rare for it to rain in the summer, it was weird. However, it turned out to be the best time because everyone enjoyed having the water come down, even though it was so humid. It was fun regardless!
Tip: Keep it personal. Yeah, summer is all about fun and just making new memories, but especially when it comes to the end of the summer, make sure to celebrate with the people you are closest to. Plus, you get to reminisce about the good times already had and just enjoy it before everyone goes back to the hustle and bustle of work and school.
Idea: Tired of the typical barbecue? Do a pancake get-together or have an all out picnic at a cool location (I mean sounds common but when did you actually last have a picnic?) Build tents in your backyard or play a game of Assassin like in Gossip Girl. Do something different and memorable, and who knows? It may end up becoming a tradition.
Story: I’m a sucker for weddings and I’ve been wanting to go to one for a while now. Thankfully, a family friend was having one, and of course, I tagged along and ended up being the photographer! It was great and you got to feel the love and they served tacos! Which were very delicious!
Tip: Don’t sweat it. I mean, literally, stay cool. But in all seriousness, if something goes wrong, just let it be. Get your feet wet, laugh when you accidentally get ketchup on your shirt, just enjoy it. Having it all together may be ideal, but winging it will keep it fun because you will just go with the flow.
Did you go to any parties or are having a big end of summer bash? Tell me all about them! These summer months seem eternal and the days and nights feel infinite. But soon enough, the nights get cooler and the sunsets earlier, so give summer one last hoorah!
